31st Convocation of UET Lahore – Degrees Awarded to 2,676 Students

This year, degrees were awarded to 1,847 undergraduate, 764 MSc/MPhil, and 65 PhD students.

46 students received 71 gold medals for outstanding academic performance.

The 31st convocation of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore was held, during which degrees were awarded to 2,676 students from the main and sub-campuses. Among them were 1,847 undergraduates, 764 MSc/MPhil, and 65 PhD graduates. In recognition of exceptional academic achievements, 46 students were awarded a total of 71 gold medals.

The convocation was presided over by the Governor of the Punjab and Chancellor of UET, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan. Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir delivered the welcome address, highlighting the university’s achievements in academics and research, and outlining future goals and planning. He stated that UET graduates are a valuable asset to Pakistan and play a vital role in the country's progress and development. He congratulated the successful students, attributing their success to the efforts of their parents and teachers, and urged them to always respect them.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor of Punjab congratulated the graduating students and noted that UET and the field of engineering have a legacy spanning over a century. He credited the rapid development of the country to the contributions of UET engineers. He also praised the university’s consistent improvement in both international and Asian rankings, attributing this success to the merit-based appointment of the Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir and his team.

Sardar Saleem Haider Khan appealed to the graduates to support the government in addressing major challenges such as poverty, water crises, environmental pollution, and natural disasters through sustainable efforts. He also emphasized that the IT sector in Pakistan presents an exceptional opportunity for social and economic prosperity.

Parents of the graduating students appeared overjoyed at their children's achievements. At the end of the convocation, the Vice Chancellor presented a commemorative shield to Sardar Saleem Haider Khan. In the final moments, students expressed their joy by tossing their graduation caps into the air.
