European Union Harmonization Commission President and Turkish MP, Mr. Burhan Kayaturk, Leads Delegation to UET Lahore

Mr. Burhan Kayaturk, Member of the Turkish Parliament from Van and President of the EU Harmonization Commission, visited the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, accompanied by Mr. Mehmet Eymen Şimşek, Consul General of Turkiye
 
The delegation was warmly welcomed by UET Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz). During the visit, Mr. Kayaturk, a distinguished alumnus of UET’s Department of Electrical Engineering (Session 1990), praised the Vice Chancellor’s exceptional leadership and fondly recalled his memorable student days at UET. He also shared key milestones from his professional journey and expressed his deep admiration and affection for Pakistan and its people, noting that the President of Turkiye holds Pakistan in high regard.
 
The Vice Chancellor provided the esteemed guests with a detailed briefing on the university’s recent achievements, ongoing development projects, and future vision. As a gesture of goodwill and to strengthen academic ties, commemorative gifts were exchanged between the Vice Chancellor and the delegation.
 
During the visit, the guests toured UET’s major laboratories and expressed keen interest in the university’s sports activities, particularly appreciating an exciting boxing match taking place at the football ground.
 
The visit was attended by UET Registrar, Director Alumni Office, Director ORIC, Director QEC, Director Faculty Development, and the university’s PRO.
Mr. Kayaturk also expressed keen interest in reconnecting with his batchmates from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Session 1990. In response, UET Alumni Office Director, Engr. Ahmed Naveed, assured support in establishing contact with his former classmates and forming a small alumni group for the session. Furthermore, the Alumni Office requested his assistance in establishing a UET Alumni Chapter in Turkey to further strengthen the university’s global network.
 
The Turkish MP reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the development and progress of UET Lahore.
