UET Engineers Achieve Another Milestone: Anti-Smog Gun Developed
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has achieved another remarkable success by developing an Anti-Smog Gun (Fog Cannon System) with a range of 40 meters. The innovative system is designed to effectively reduce dust and air pollution. This advanced dust suppression technology will play a vital role in controlling pollution at construction sites, stone-crushing plants, and mining operations.
The system works by spraying fine water particles into the air, which bind with dust particles and bring them down, thereby improving air quality and reducing environmental hazards. Vice Chancellor UET, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), congratulated the engineers on this achievement. He stated that this invention marks a practical step towards combating environmental pollution and reaffirmed his vision of making UET a hub of scientific innovation.
The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the efforts of Project Supervisor Engr. Moeen Sultan, Dean Mechanical Engineering Prof. Dr. Tauseef Aized, Campus Coordinator Dr. Shahid Imran, and Chairman Dr. Muhammad Farhan, acknowledging their significant contributions. He emphasized that UET engineers have always taken practical initiatives in advanced research and in addressing societal challenges.
