UET Lahore Hosts International Workshop on Chemical Risk Management Curriculum Development
The Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State's Chemical Security Program, jointly managed by Sandia National Laboratories (USA), the CWC Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, and UET Lahore, organized a five-day workshop on “Chemical Risk Management Curriculum Development.”
The workshop focused on developing effective educational frameworks to promote chemical safety, strengthen risk management practices, and enhance global cooperation in addressing security challenges related to hazardous materials. Experts from Pakistan and abroad shared their knowledge and experiences to support the development of a robust curriculum that aligns with international best practices. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor UET Lahore, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI), hosted a dinner in honor of the visiting delegation.
The gathering provided a valuable platform for exchanging views on chemical safety, international cooperation, and the role of higher education institutions in tackling both global and local security issues. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the collaborative efforts of all partners and emphasized the importance of integrating chemical security into academic programs to prepare future engineers and scientists for addressing critical challenges responsibly.
