UET Lahore Launches Rehabilitation and Upgradation Projects of Old and Dilapidated Infrastructure
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has formally inaugurated multiple projects aimed at the rehabilitation and upgradation of its old and deteriorating buildings. These projects, funded by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), are part of the university’s broader initiative to modernize its infrastructure and provide improved facilities for students, faculty, and staff.
Vice Chancellor UET, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, inaugurated the projects for the Upgradation of Old Main Block, Renovation of Alumni House, and Renovation of University Mosque. The total costs of these projects are Rs. 117,576,110, Rs. 8,616,150, and Rs. 20,572,696, respectively.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Nasir Hayat, Registrar Muhammad Asif, Deans of various faculties, PRO Dr. Tanveer Qasim, and the Project Director.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir said that the completion of these projects will significantly enhance the academic and administrative environment of the university while preserving the architectural heritage of its historic buildings. He added that these initiatives mark an important milestone in UET’s journey toward progress and excellence.
“Our priority is to provide facilities that meet the standards of modern educational institutions,” he said, “so that students and faculty can fully realize their potential in an inspiring and well-equipped academic environment.
