The 497th meeting of the Syndicate of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir. The meeting was attended by Syndicate members including Dr. Nasir Hayat, Mujahid Pervaiz Chattha, Sajida Vandal, Tariq Iqbal, Zahida Azhar, Dr. Najaf, Imran Babar, Sharif Rao, as well as Deans of various faculties and administrative officers. During the meeting, the annual budget of UET Lahore for the fiscal year 2025–26 was approved. Recommendations were also made regarding the promotion of faculty and staff, along with proposals for new appointments. According to the budget estimates, the university's expected income is Rs. 5,989.399 million, while anticipated expenditures amount to Rs. 6,157.635 million, resulting in a projected deficit of Rs. 168.236 million. Various proposals to address this budget shortfall were discussed, and new initiatives aimed at increasing revenue were approved. The Syndicate also deliberated on financial, administrative, academic, and research matters, reviewed the performance of different departments, and discussed strategic plans for the future. Furthermore, satisfaction was expressed over ongoing academic and research projects at various campuses of UET Lahore, with a reaffirmed commitment to their timely completion.
