The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the LSE Intervarsity Football Tournament 2025, held on Sunday. A total of 16 universities from across the region participated in the competition, and UET Lahore emerged as the champions, marking a historic first-ever football title for the University.

 

Following this outstanding achievement, the victorious UET football team met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI), who warmly congratulated Director Sports Mr. Muhammad Tanveer and the winning players for their exceptional performance and dedication. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the team’s hard work and spirit, emphasizing that such achievements bring pride to the University and inspire other students to excel in co-curricular activities.

 

The UET football team demonstrated remarkable skills, discipline, and teamwork throughout the tournament, defeating some of the top-ranked teams, including Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Forman Christian College, University (FCCU), and Lahore School of Economics (LSE), on their way to victory. This accomplishment not only signifies a major sporting success but also establishes UET Lahore as a rising force in the university football circuit.

 

The team, managed independently by dedicated students for the past two years, has consistently participated in various intervarsity events. Despite facing tough luck in previous tournaments, this time their perseverance and belief paid off with a championship win that has earned recognition from universities and football clubs alike.

 

This victory reflects UET Lahore’s commitment to excellence not only in academics and research but also in sports and co-curricular activities, fostering teamwork, resilience, and leadership among its students.
