In a pioneering initiative to empower women, the Zamil Society of UET Lahore, in collaboration with Eveon Bikes, organized a series of activities under the theme of “Women on Wheels.” The event aimed to provide women with awareness and knowledge about electric vehicles and e-mobility.

The event, which took place over two days, featured test rides, stalls, and lectures on e-mobility and women’s empowerment in the transportation sector. Eveon Bikes provided test rides for students, giving them the opportunity to experience electric bikes firsthand. A special lecture session on e-mobility and women’s autonomy in transportation was also part of the activities. The goal was to raise awareness about the potential of electric vehicles in enhancing women’s mobility while promoting eco-friendly transportation.

The closing ceremony of the event was graced by the esteemed Vice Chancellor, Dr. Shahid Munir, who also presided over a lucky draw. During the ceremony, Dr. Munir announced the winner of the draw, and the keys to an e-bike were handed over to the fortunate winner by the team from Eveon Bikes and Dr. Shahid Munir himself.

Dr. Shahid Munir emphasized that initiatives like this play a vital role in improving women’s mobility and providing them with leadership opportunities in the transportation sector. He further stated that promoting e-mobility could also contribute to the growth of environmentally friendly transportation. The Vice Chancellor also praised the efforts of Dr. Rehana and her team from the Zamil Society for successfully organizing the event.
