UET employees to get delayed 20 & 25 percent raise in the salaries, Secretary HED Dr. Farrukh Naveed Visits UET Lahore, Announces Grant of One Billion Rupees
Secretary Higher Education Department (HED), Dr. Farrukh Naveed, visited the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and met with Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir, Deans, and faculty members. During his visit, he announced a funding of one billion rupees for UET on behalf of the Punjab government, which has been approved by the Punjab Cabinet. Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir expressed his gratitude to the Punjab Government, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and Secretary HED for their support.
He also thanked Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat and all officials who contributed to this significant initiative. Secretary HED Dr. Farrukh Naveed praised UET as a historic institution and expressed confidence that under Dr. Shahid Munir’s leadership, UET will not only achieve new heights of development but also successfully overcome temporary challenges.
Additionally, he announced that under the "Honhar Scholarship" scheme, students from previous sessions, along with those from the 2024 session, will also be included in the scholarship program. At this occasion Vice Chancellor also announced 20 and 25 percent raise in the salaries of UET employee in different categories which was delayed due to uncertain financial conditions of the university. He also announced to conduct regular selection board. The faculty members and representatives of the Teaching Staff Association paid tribute to the efforts of Secretary HED and expressed hope that HED and higher education authorities will continue to support the institution in addressing its needs and challenges in the future.
