The opening ceremony of the first UET Floodlight Football Tournament was held at Lahore University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, which was officially inaugurated by Dr. Shahid Munir, Vice Chancellor.

 

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Sports Department and student organizers on this historic occasion, saying “The first football tournament under the floodlights at UET is a significant milestone for the promotion of sports.”

 

He added that “Sports activities are being fully supervised at UET. In this context, the sports complex is undergoing reconstruction while the swimming pool is being upgraded rapidly to better provide the students. Better sports facilities can be provided.”

 

On the occasion of the inauguration, the Vice Chancellor started the tournament with a formal kick-off. The players entered the field with the loud chants of the students and teachers present in the stadium, after which the inaugural match began in the bright environment of the newly installed flood lights.

 

The tournament will last several days with teams from different departments competing against each other for the championship title. The event aims to increase student sports, highlight their talents and promote nighttime sports at the university. To promote the activities.
